We are seeking a proactive and organised Senior Business Officer to support the delivery of a significant change project within Ofsted Legal Services. The project is focused on improving internal systems and ways of working to ensure the service continues to provide high-quality, effective support.
Working closely with the Project Manager and under the direction of the project lead, you will play a key role in planning, monitoring, and reporting project activity, supporting risk management and helping to embed improved operational processes across the directorate.
You will be organised, detail-focused and confident working in a fast-paced environment. You will have strong communication skills and be comfortable working with a range of stakeholders. Experience of supporting projects, managing information, and improving processes would be advantageous, as would line management experience or a willingness to develop these skills.

Assessment and interview:
Candidates who pass the benchmark at the shortlisting stage will be invited to an assessment and interview where they will be assessed against a mixture of the Civil Service behaviours and the experience/technical skills set out in section 3 of the job specification.

Requirements
- Good written and verbal communication skills, working effectively with team members and relevant stakeholders both internally and externally to provide accurate advice and guidance (Essential).
- Understanding and successful application of how to prioritise, plan and deliver on key work activities without close supervision, demonstrating the ability to work on a series of unrelated problems simultaneously (Essential).
- Understanding and successful application of strong IT skills, including use of the Microsoft Office suite, and the ability to learn new programs quickly (Essential).
- To be able to produce, interpret and manipulate data sets, and to be able to analyse and summarise key findings, tailoring reports to suit the needs of various audiences (Essential).
- Experience of working successfully in a complex organisation providing professional advice to a range of stakeholders and forging effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders (Essential).
- Demonstrable knowledge of legal practices within a regulatory or public sector environment, including effective case handling, record keeping and the effective use of systems to support accurate and timely legal work (Desirable)., This vacancy is using Success Profiles , and will assess your Behaviours, Experience and Technical skills., Successful candidates must undergo a criminal record check.
