Join our team as an entry-level GIS Technician supporting utility-focused mapping and data maintenance initiatives for electric and/or gas distribution clients. This role is ideal for detail-oriented GIS professionals who are eager to build hands-on experience in utility environments., The GIS Technician will perform map corrections and as-built updates within Esri ArcGIS Pro, while supporting data accuracy, documentation, and project delivery. Working in a fully remote, collaborative setting, this role contributes to project meetings, workflow documentation, and continuous process improvement., * Perform GIS map corrections and as-built updates within Esri ArcGIS Pro to support accurate utility system records.
- Review, edit, and maintain spatial and attribute data to ensure data integrity and quality standards.
- Assist with data entry workflows and support ongoing GIS data maintenance activities across projects.
- Help document, update, and follow standardized work instructions and data entry procedures.
- Identify and escalate data discrepancies, gaps, or inconsistencies to project leads.
- Participate in weekly project meetings and provide status updates on assigned tasks.
- Collaborate with team members and project stakeholders in a fully remote environment.
- Support continuous improvement efforts related to GIS processes, tools, and data quality.
- Contribute to a positive team environment and demonstrate accountability for assigned work.
Requirements
Required
- Bachelor's degree (or currently pursuing) in GIS, Geography, or a related technical field or equivalent work experience.
- Experience supporting GIS data updates.
- Hands-on experience with Esri ArcGIS Desktop or Pro (Pro preferred).
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate data and follow established workflows.
- Strong technical aptitude and comfort learning new software and tools.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating with a team.
Preferred
- Existing TSA Known Traveler Number (PreCheck).
- Exposure to utility network data, including gas or electric distribution systems.
- Familiarity with GIS data editing, QA/QC processes, or as-built workflows.
Other Requirements:
- Flexibility to work across U.S. time zones as needed.
- Must be able to work legally in the US without sponsorship.
- Ability to obtain a TSA Known Traveler Number (PreCheck), if required to meet client identity verification or security requirements.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test, where permitted by law.
- Ability to pass a background check, consistent with applicable laws.

Salary Range: $20.50 to $28.00 per hour; flexible based on experience, skills, and geographic location
