Software Engineer

We are seeking a Full Stack .NET Engineer to help modernize and transform a legacy system. This role is designed for engineers who can deliver results with speed, precision, and autonomy. It requires a high degree of technical fluency, ownership, and the ability to execute effectively in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Rapidly gain fluency in a 2M+ line VB.NET codebase, helping evolve it for today's needs.
• Build and enhance our C# middle layer using Entity Framework Core.
• Design and implement full-feature solutions alongside our product owner.
• Triage and resolve critical, high-stakes bugs.
• Own integrations with third-party APIs such as UPS, Vertex, FedEx, and Twilio.
• Collaborate with other high-performing developers to raise the bar for the platform.

• 6+ years of full stack development experience with VB.NET.
• Proficiency in both legacy systems and modern C#/EF Core patterns.
• Experience with legacy code migrations.
• Strong skills in VB.NET, C#, ASP.NET Core, Razor MVC, and SQL scripting.
• Experience with SQL Server and Entity Framework Core.
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps and GitHub Copilot.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with 3rd-party APIs such as UPS, Vertex, Twilio, FedEx, and Azure.
• Knowledge of RESTful APIs and artificial intelligence software.

This development team operates 100% remotely, but candidates must live within a 4-hour drive of Nicholasville, KY, as on-site collaboration is required once a quarter. The team consists of 4 developers and does not follow any formal project management methodology. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $63.00/hr.
