Job description
We're looking for a sharp, self-driven Azure Cloud Engineer to join our client's team at a well-established and rapidly growing manufacturing company based in Houston, Texas. This is a full-time, onsite role requiring 5 days a week at the Houston office. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment with ample growth potential.
You'll be the go-to technical authority for our client's cloud platform, working across teams to drive modernization, keep things running clean, and help them get the most out of Azure.
What You'll Be Doing
- Architect, deploy, and manage a broad range of Azure services including Entra ID, Exchange Online, Microsoft 365, Azure Virtual Desktop, VNet infrastructure, and Azure Storage
- Build and maintain Azure IaaS virtual machines and networking services in support of an ongoing cloud migration initiative
- Continuously right-size and tune Azure resources for cost efficiency and performance, including VM sizing, tagging strategies, and reserved instance planning
- Partner with the development team to migrate and adapt their applications to run natively in Azure
- Administer and configure advanced Azure components: App Gateway, Azure Front Door, App Services, Defender for Cloud, APIM, Log Analytics, App Proxy, Entra Enterprise Applications, and Cato SDWAN integration
- Implement SSO and federated identity solutions using Entra as the identity provider across multiple platforms
- Lead IT infrastructure projects from concept through documentation and delivery
- Manage and support the on-premises server environment as part of a hybrid model
- Stay current on emerging cloud technologies and bring forward-thinking recommendations to the team
- Serve as a senior escalation point and provide technical mentorship to junior team members
- Other responsibilities as they arise
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related discipline
- 7 or more years of hands-on experience with Azure and Microsoft 365 environments; relevant certifications (AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-900) are desired
- Working knowledge of security frameworks such as NIST, CIS, or ISO 27001
- Experience with MS Entra Connect in enterprise environments
- Strong background managing Windows enterprise systems
- Virtualization management experience
- PowerShell scripting skills are a plus
