Job description
Serve as the district's main point of contact for Student Information Systems (SIS) operations, functionality and data services. Maintain the day-to-day Skyward system management, provide technical support and troubleshooting across campuses. Lead district training initiatives, develop user documentation, and promote consistent, accurate, and effective use of district data systems., Records, Reports
- Build the import and export templates and manage the exchange of data between
the district's SIS and the other district programs.
- Work cooperatively with campus and district staff to collect, organize, and
format data required to submit SIS data to other systems.
- Participate in available training opportunities to enhance understanding and
skills in effectively utilizing and managing the district's SIS.
- Provide support to families using the SIS parent portal.
- Configure automatic emails and notifications.
- Configure and maintain calendar tracks.
- Configure and maintain enrollment and registration modules.
- Configure and maintain grading, attendance and scheduling setup.
- Complete annual rollover of the district's SIS.
- Maintain friendly customer-service-driven interactions with all stakeholders,
students,teachers, administrators, and co-workers.
- Produce reports for district and campus administrators as needed/requested.
Training and Technical Support
- Develop and maintain user technical and training documentation.
- Provide training for all student information system (SIS) modules to district,
campus and department personnel.
- Provide guidance and support to all SIS users at the district, campus and
department levels.
- Develop needed professional skills appropriate to job assignments.
Other
- Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of
Education rule,and local board policy.
- Demonstrate behavior that is professional, ethical, and responsible and
serve as a role model for district staff.
- Compile, maintain and file all physical and computerized reports,
records and otherdocuments required for possible future reference.
- Maintain a good rapport with campus/district staff and project a cooperative
and positive attitude.
- Attend meetings and training opportunities as they pertain to student
information system software, user creation, maintenance systems and protocols,
district/campus software programs, and/or TSDS/PEIMS.
- Maintain a working knowledge of PEIMS requirements and rules with an
understanding that changes continually occur.
- Stay abreast of the annual version of the SAAH
(Student Attendance Accounting Handbook) and the TEDS
(Texas Education Data Standards).
- Monitor the info@daytonisd.net email address and forward messages to the
correct parties.
- Maintain confidentiality of information.
- Exemplary attendance is an essential job function
- Perform other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.
Requirements
High school diploma or GED
Special Knowledge / Skills
Strong knowledge of district's student information system (SIS) software, Skyward SMS Ability to maintain accurate and auditable records Ability to maintain confidentiality of student data and district information Proficiency in the use of computers and software to develop documents, spreadsheets and presentations (Microsoft Office and Google products) Ability to develop and maintain technical and training documentation Proficient typing, keyboarding and file maintenance skills Ability to meet established deadlines Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills Ability to set priorities, handle multiple assignments, and make competent decisions Ability to identify an issue and implement a problem-solving approach effectively Ability to extract data and information from various sources and combine into usable formats
Experience
Three years of experience in a campus or district-level administrative support position with knowledge about collecting and entering data Three years of technical experience using computer systems, Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors
Work with frequest interruptions
Ability to perform mathmetical calculations
Repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of computer
