Job description
- Design and implement predictive models to identify trends in benefit requests, potential fraud indicators, or national security vulnerabilities.
- Utilize the USCIS Data Lake to aggregate, clean, and analyze structured and unstructured datasets.
- Develop and maintain enterprise-level dashboards (e.g., using Tableau or Power BI) to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics.
- Translate highly technical analytical findings into clear, non-technical recommendations for agency senior leadership and interagency partners.
- Collaborate with the Office of Information Technology (OIT) to evaluate new tools and ensure data integration between disparate DHS systems.
Requirements
- Minimum of three (3) - ten (10) years of relevant progressive experience in Data Science
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics or Computer Science is required; A Master's degree in these areas is preferred.
- Certified Senior Data Scientist certification or similar is highly desirable.
- Advanced proficiency in Python, R, or SQL is mandatory for querying and integrating complex datasets.
- Mastery of regression, forecasting, hypothesis testing, and machine learning techniques.
- Experience with agency-specific systems for identity management and immigration status verification.
- Expertise in preprocessing, feature engineering, and cleaning large-scale, high-dimensional federal datasets.
