Job description
- Implement and manage Lab Automation utilizing the Spirent Velocity platform.
- Architect and design a secure network environment for the lab.
- Develop automation scripts using Python based on user requirements.
- Build and maintain a VMware ESXi environment using clusters, resource pools, and shared storage.
- Train and assist users with lab systems, tools, and processes.
- Assist users with building and provisioning virtual machine guests in Windows and Linux.
- Monitor and maintain the lab network to ensure reliable operation.
- Design and implement tools to mitigate network outages.
- Create dashboards and tools to monitor server and network environments.
- Update and patch systems to maintain a secure operating environment.
- Implement LDAP/Active Directory for user authentication to lab services.
- Enable remote access to lab services for end-users via SSL VPN and RDP/VNC/View Client.
- Maintain and deploy network testing tools, such as TCP Replay, IXIA, and Spirent.
- Perform physical racking and stacking of new equipment in the lab.
- Manage physical cabling connections for lab infrastructure and customer replication requests.
Requirements
Qualified candidates will be proficient in Advanced Network Administration, VMWare, Linux, and Windows administration. This role requires a self-motivated, articulate, and organized individual with a talent for finding and resolving issues before they become larger problems. Experience in a support or engineering network lab environment is preferred. Experience with the Spirent Velocity lab automation platform is a plus., Education: A Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent work experience is required.
Experience: 3-5 years of experience working as a Lab Systems Administrator.

Preferred Qualifications
- Good understanding of the TCP/IP stack and Layer 2 networking (STP, LACP, MCLAG/VCP, VLAN trunking).
- Understanding of routing protocols (RIP, OSPF, BGP).
- Advanced troubleshooting skills for network outages.
- Working experience with Firewalls and hands-on experience with Cisco and Arista switches.
- Understanding of VMware networking (vSphere Distributed Switches and standard switches).
- Knowledge of best practices for the management, control, and monitoring of server infrastructure.
- Scripting and automation skills, with an emphasis on Python.
- Knowledge of common network protocols such as UDP, Dynamic Routing Protocols, VLAN, SSH/SCP/SFTP, iSCSI, DNS, NFS, LDAP, SIFS, SMTP, SNMP.
- Experience with network testing tools (TCP Replay, IXIA, Breaking Point, Spirent Test Center, Spirent Avalanche).
- Experience managing CENTOS, Ubuntu, or other Linux distributions.
