Job description

The storage engineering team are responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle, including analysis, evaluation, design, testing, integration and sustained engineering of block storage and data protection products for the our client's enterprise-level storage environment.

Requirements

Currently working within an enterprise-level storage environment

  • Experienced in Pure Storage FlashArray block storage products and/or in Rubrik r6000 series data protection products
  • Experienced in Brocade G series fabric switch products
  • Capability to follow and deliver Product Development Life Cycle type documentation as part of the product evaluation and certification process
  • Competent in Windows, Linux/UNIX-like operating systems, I/O and network stack tuning and performance profiling
  • An understanding how to deliver reliable services out of unreliable components
  • Familiar with DevOps tools and version control systems (SVN, GitLab)
  • Familiar with SRE principles such as user journeys, SLI/SLO, and synthetic probers
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and trouble shooting skills
  • Ability to adapt to new technologies

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

  • Experience with engineering and operating a hybrid cloud delivery model with focus on data coherency between on-prem and off-prem components.
  • Proficiency with PowerShell, Python, Bash or other scripting languages with a focus on testing and sound SDLC practices.
  • Familiarity with hyperscalers (AWS, GCP, and Azure)
  • Familiarity with hypervisors (ESX)
  • Beneficial, but not required, experience in block storage (Dell, Hitachi), file (Netapp, Dell Unity), and/or backup solutions (Networker, DataDomain).
  • Familiarity with Elastic Search and Kibana

Benefits & conditions

Pay rate is $51 -$59/hr and is dependent upon skillset fit, Benefit packages for this role will start on the 1st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
