Job description

Duties: Design, develop and implement software solutions. Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices. Involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules. Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues. Take active role in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications. Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows. Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions.

Requirements

Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Applied Computer Science, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, Electronic Engineering, or related field of study plus 3 years (36 months) of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, IS Technical Specialist, Software Developer, IT Analyst, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree in Applied Computer Science, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, Electronic Engineering, or related field of study plus 5 years (60 months) of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, IS Technical Specialist, Software Developer, IT Analyst, or related occupation.

Skills Required: This position requires three (3) years of experience with the following: Developing applications throughout the entire development life cycle; Creating Java web applications including client interactions, system design, interaction with Java EE application server, and web services utilizing Java Development including core Application Program Interfaces, web services, multithreaded concurrent programming, JSON, XML, design patterns, Service Oriented Architecture Pattern, Spring including Spring MVC, Spring data, and Spring Security, SOAP, and REST services; Developing and implementing Microservices using Spring Boot and Event Driven architecture; Developing builds using Maven pattern builds; Implementing data models and defining tables, indexes, views, stored procedures and data-integrity constraints in relational Database Management platforms including Oracle and Object-Relational Database Management tools including Postgres; Managing and querying data using SQL; Building and maintaining Java web applications running on web application servers such as Apache Tomcat; Deploying and operating in public cloud and automating deployments using Terraform or CI/CD pipelines; Conducting application development using toolsets including Intellij, Jenkins, Postman, and Bruno; Deploying applications using Jenkins, Jules and Jfrog artifactory; Integrating and enterprise testing utilizing Wiremock, Hoverfly, Jmeter and Blazemeter; Implementing scalable systems, release management, software configuration, design, and development; Driving the software development life cycle by participating in requirements gathering, design reviews, coding, testing, deployment and maintenance; Delivering products using Agile methodologies; Testing at the unit, integration and system level and using testing frameworks including Cucumber, Selenium, and Junit and mock testing frameworks including EasyMock and Mockito; Applying Object-Oriented design and patterns by leveraging patterns such as Factory, Strategy, Observer, or MVC to solve design challenges; Aligning established application, data, and infrastructure architecture disciplines throughout every Software Development Life Cycle phase; Supporting applications within a production environment using Grafana, Splunk and Dynatrace; Conducting Application Performance assessment using tools including Jmeter; Conducting business analysis & continuous improvement by Identifying performance bottlenecks, refactor legacy code and implement enhancements to reduce technical debt.
