Job description

Join our team as an IT Implementation Engineer! In this role, you will be at the forefront of technology as a member of a designated project team focused on performing a full analysis of legacy voice services, including POTS, and either migrating to a current-gen/standard solution or decommissioning. Your responsibilities will include: Identification and migration of legacy telephony, fax, and alarm services to current standard, otherwise decommissioning said services; collaborating with third-party vendors to ensure smooth installation of replacement services and/or disconnection of old services; coordinating with branch contacts to ensure smooth transition to new services; updating other internal teams on project progress when requested; and proper transition to ongoing support processes where necessary., * Analyze information across multiple sources, including branch associates, to determine telecom and alarm needs of assigned locations.

  • Manage multiple analysis, validation, install, porting, and/or disconnect projects simultaneously. You will be working within all aforementioned stages across assigned sites throughout entirety of project scope.
  • Order and facilitate the installation of POTS-in-a-Box systems for alarm services where POTS service currently exists.
  • Order and facilitate porting of toll-free or POTS lines to AT&T BVoIP, ReadyLine, and/or IPTF, where determined necessary.
  • Order and facilitate porting of POTS fax lines to enterprise e-fax service where determined necessary.
  • Coordinate closely with vendors and branches to ensure proper implementation of services, timely cutover, address any post-install needs, etc.
  • Ensure completion of standardized tasks and processes to coordinate, implement, install, and test all technical aspects of newly implemented services within scope, based on defined standards.
  • Ensure timely, accurate documentation and tracking of work-order activities in defined enterprise tools, to include regular updates across analysis and other project stages (Planner, List, Project, SharePoint, etc).
  • Coordinate with internal engineering, project management, response teams, and security groups, as well as manage third party contractor activities to avoid undue disruption to branch operations.
  • Participate in associate meetings and communicate any concerns to management.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical, organizational, coordination, and communication skills, a solid understanding of voice services and alarm communications, a proactive approach to meeting branch needs, and be able to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical internal and external parties.

Problem Solving: This position requires extensive, oftentimes complex, analysis within the project scope. Identify opportunities for adjustments to standard process to solve problems that may not be immediately evident in existing processes and systems. Make use of references and/or help form norms and/or standard procedures to solve these problems when frequently encountered (e.g., operating manuals, ability to discuss in teams, or escalate issues to manager).

Role Clarification: The role within the context of the associated project is similar to a project coordinator and/or technical business analyst but requires no specific certification. It involves independent research and reference/cross-reference, data and requirements validation, placing orders, coordination of multiple sites (20-30+) within project scope, collaboration across multiple internal and external teams, and facilitating communication on both a technical and non-technical scale. Primary stakeholders include project managers, branch associates, technical teams, security and facilities teams, and external vendors, requiring the candidate to understand and communicate effectively with all parties., * At least three years of experience in voice telecommunications.

  • Experience in handling multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Understanding of telecommunications, particularly voice systems., * At least three years of experience in voice telecommunications.
  • Basic familiarity with security and fire alarm systems and/or regulations.
  • Experience in handling multiple projects (sites) simultaneously.
  • Experience in telecom service analysis and implementation.
  • Experience with large-scale/enterprise-level project coordination/execution.
  • Experience with requirements gathering and/or validation.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Office and project/task management software (Teams, Outlook, Excel, SharePoint, Planner, List).
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, including the ability to prioritize work and task-switch efficiently and effectively.
  • Exceptional, well-honed abilities in complex problem-solving, information analysis, cross-referencing across multiple sources, and awareness of even small details which may change an outcome or next-step decision.
  • Ability to learn quickly and independently using provided resources and training and apply transferable skills and knowledge to areas with which you may not be as familiar.
  • Ability to recognize specific gaps in knowledge and willingness to ask targeted questions within project team to close gaps whenever necessary.

ADDITIONAL/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Familiarity with AT&T BVoIP, ReadyLine, and IPTF, EtherFAX, and POTS-in-a-Box systems.
  • Experience with AT&T porting procedures.
  • Experience with multiple telecom technologies from a coordination and/or engineering viewpoint.
  • Experience with alarm system communications across POTS, radio, and/or cellular pathways.
  • Familiarity with alarm monitoring vendors, particularly concerning industry-specific terminology.
  • Familiarity/experience with Zendesk.
  • Familiarity/experience with Telecom Expense Management (TEM) platforms.
  • Familiarity/experience with MetTel's Bruin platform.
  • Familiarity/experience with Service Channel, and/or similar facilities management platforms.
  • Ability to thrive in a remote work environment and on collaborative teams.
  • Poise and maturity to interact at all levels of the organization as well as external partners.
