Senior Developer - Java, Cloud & Kafka

As a Senior Developer - Java, Cloud & Kafka, you will make an impact by designing and delivering scalable analytics solutions and cloud-based applications that support high-volume, business-critical systems. You will be a valued member of a cross-functional engineering team and collaborate closely with technical program managers, tech leads, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust, production-ready solutions.

This role requires strong hands-on expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and cloud platforms, along with the ability to guide technical discussions and influence design decisions.

What you'll do

Design and build analytics applications on Azure or GCP

Develop backend services using Java and Spring Boot

Work with teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions

Write unit tests and ensure quality code

Deploy features to production and support monitoring

Build event-driven solutions using Kafka or messaging tools

What you need

8-10+ years of experience with Java and Spring Boot

Experience building applications in the cloud (Azure or GCP)

Hands-on experience with Kafka or messaging frameworks

Experience working on large-scale or high-volume systems

Strong understanding of testing and production-ready code

Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, or equivalent

Nice to have

Experience with analytics or data-driven applications

Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools

Experience guiding or supporting other developers

The annual salary for this position is between $68,422 to $128,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
