Data Analyst (Power BI)

Day to Day: Insight Global is looking for a data analyst to join their team to help with the development of Power BI dashboards. This role involves designing, building, and deploying interactive Power BI dashboards and paginated reports while developing efficient data models using Power BI Desktop, DAX, and Power Query. This person will regularly connect to and transform data from a variety of sources and work to optimize report performance through thoughtful modeling, indexing, and query tuning. Their role includes implementing row-level security and managing workspace permissions, as well as collaborating closely with business teams to gather requirements and translate them into meaningful insights. They will ensure data accuracy, integrity, and governance across all reporting solutions, automate data refreshes, manage datasets and gateways in the Power BI Service, and document data models, metric definitions, and reporting processes. Throughout the day, they also support ad-hoc analysis and provide data-driven recommendations that help guide business decisions.

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Solid SQL skills for querying and transforming data.
• Strong hands-on experience with Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.
• Proficiency in DAX, Power Query (M), and data modeling best practices.
• Experience working with relational databases, data warehouses, or cloud data platforms.
• Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions. Ability to work cross-functionally with technical and non-technical teams.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Plusses: Power BI certification or equivalent experience.
