cBEYONData is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Data Enterprise Architect to join our team in support of a multi-year SAP S/4HANA modernization effort for a federal customer. The program focuses on IT transformation and enterprise modernization, leveraging subject matter experts to improve enterprise data architecture, information interoperability, and data governance across the Department of Defense business mission area.
The Lead Data Enterprise Architect will support the development and maintenance of ABEA-aligned data architecture, ensuring enterprise data models, information exchanges, and authoritative data sources support mission operations and modernization objectives. This role will guide data architecture efforts across SAP and non-SAP systems to support enterprise decision-making, integration, and long-term sustainment.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage a remote team of data architects and information modelers supporting enterprise data architecture development.

Oversee development and maintenance of ABEA-aligned data architecture artifacts, including DIV-2 Logical Data Models, information exchanges, and authoritative data source mappings.

Direct and participate in enterprise data architecture analysis, evaluation, design, integration, and documentation supporting DoD business mission systems.

Collaborate with government architects, subject matter experts, and system implementers to define enterprise data structures supporting business capabilities and system interoperability.

Develop and maintain enterprise logical data models and conceptual data models supporting Army Business Enterprise Architecture standards.

Support development and maintenance of DoDAF data artifacts, including:
- DIV-2 Logical Data Model
- DIV-3 Physical Data Model mappings
- OV-3 Information Exchange Requirements
- Data lineage and authoritative data source identification.
- Ensure enterprise data architecture supports cross-system integration and interoperability, including SAP S/4HANA and external mission systems.
- Establish and maintain enterprise data standards, data governance practices, and metadata management processes.
- Manage enterprise architecture repositories to ensure data models, objects, and exchanges adhere to program architecture standards and data governance policies.
- Participate in architecture workshops and working groups to define enterprise data requirements, canonical data structures, and integration patterns.
- Provide architecture guidance supporting data migration, master data harmonization, and enterprise data quality initiatives across the program.
- Support architecture governance boards and leadership forums by briefing data architecture status, risks, and integration impacts.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Data Architecture, Computer Science, or related field
- 6+ years of experience in enterprise data architecture, data modeling, or information architecture
- 5+ years leading architecture or data engineering teams
- Active DoD Secret security clearance
- Experience supporting DoD enterprise architecture frameworks (DoDAF, ABEA, or equivalent)
- Strong knowledge of enterprise data architecture, logical data modeling, and information exchange design
- Experience developing DIV-2 Logical Data Models and data architecture artifacts within DoDAF frameworks
- Familiarity with SAP data structures and enterprise ERP data models (e.g., master data domains, financial data structures)
- Experience using enterprise architecture tools such as ARIS, Sparx EA, or similar modeling platforms
- Experience supporting enterprise data governance, metadata management, and authoritative data source identification
- Strong leadership and communication skills, including the ability to coordinate across architects, engineers, functional SMEs, and system implementers
- Demonstrated ability to translate business capabilities into enterprise data architecture and information models
- Experience supporting large-scale ERP transformation programs or enterprise system modernization efforts
- Excellent communication skills across technical and executive audiences
- Attention to detail, particularly regarding data quality, data lineage, and data integrity
