Job description
Mount Indie is seeking Software Systems Engineers with strong foundations in requirements engineering, MBSE, and verification & validation (V&V) to support the development of advanced software-driven systems.
This role is ideal for engineers who thrive in structured environments and enjoy bridging the gap between system architecture, software implementation, and test validation.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform requirements development and decomposition from system to software level
- Establish and maintain bi-directional traceability across system, software, and test artifacts
- Develop and manage system models using CAMEO (MBSE)
- Define and support Verification & Validation (V&V) strategies and test planning
- Support development of system and subsystem test methodologies
- Ensure alignment between requirements, architecture, and implementation
- Support major design reviews ( SRR/SFR, PDR, CDR ) with high-quality artifacts
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (software, hardware, integration)
- Support configuration management and change control processes
Requirements
- Active Secret security clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Systems, Electrical, Computer Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in systems engineering for software-intensive systems
- Experience with:
- Requirements decomposition and management
- Requirements traceability tools (DOORS, Jama, etc.)
- Verification & Validation (V&V) processes
- CAMEO or similar MBSE tools
- Strong understanding of systems engineering lifecycle processes
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience implementing MBSE in production environments
- Familiarity with Agile or hybrid development methodologies
- Experience supporting mission-critical or large-scale systems
- Knowledge of system integration and interface control
- Advanced degree in a technical field
