Job description
The Design Engineer is a key member of the Engineering Services Group, a centralized team focused on high-volume BMS design, DDC programming, graphics development, and engineering standards. This position has little to no fieldwork and is responsible for developing system databases and design deliverables that support construction operations across a wide range of projects. The team supports both rapid-turn small projects and larger, collaborative efforts, with a strong emphasis on consistency, scalability, and technical excellence. |, |
- · Develop building automation system designs based on project plans, specifications, and customer requirements
- Controls programming and graphics development
- · Support the development and implementation of internal engineering standards and design guidelines
- · Assist in the development of standardized design approaches for key customers and project types
- · Manage time and priorities to complete assignments on schedule and within project budgets
Requirements
- Strong understanding of building automation systems and control system design
- Knowledge of DDC (Direct Digital Control) theory and applications
- Ability to analyze mechanical systems and translate them into effective control strategies
- Proven ability to analyze complex information, data, and technical documents
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple design assignments
- Skilled in the use of AutoCAD and other engineering/design software
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities, + Engineering undergraduate degree
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Computer programming experience
- Building Mechanical system experience
- Experience with electronics and basic electrical circuits
- 3-5 years of building automation or controls design experience preferred
