Job description

DecisionPoint Corporation is seeking a Cloud Architect to support our U.S. Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM) Integrated Booking System (IBS) program. This role will lead cloud architecture, migration, and modernization efforts, supporting mission-critical transportation and logistics systems aligned with USTRANSCOM objectives.

The Cloud Architect will design, deploy, and optimize cloud-native environments using AWS services, while driving application modernization through containerization and DevSecOps practices. This position provides technical leadership across cloud infrastructure, ensuring scalable, secure, and compliant solutions that support the IBS program.

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in cloud architecture, DevSecOps, and modernization strategies, with the ability to lead teams and collaborate across stakeholders in a complex, mission-driven environment., * Lead the design and implementation of cloud-native architectures in AWS, including containerized environments (Kubernetes, Docker)

  • Develop and execute application migration strategies, including legacy system transition, data migration, architecture design, and gap analysis
  • Support refactoring of legacy applications into microservices-based, containerized architectures
  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitLab, Jenkins, Terraform, and CloudFormation
  • Lead transition of existing pipelines (e.g., Jenkins) to modern platforms such as GitLab CI/CD
  • Ensure cloud environments meet DoD security and compliance standards (DISA STIGs/SRGs, RMF, FedRAMP)
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions to automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration
  • Utilize orchestration and automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, GitLab) to support efficient deployments and operations
  • Perform load testing and implement auto-scaling solutions to ensure system performance and availability
  • Maintain technical documentation for cloud architecture, pipelines, and system configurations
  • Collaborate with development, sustainment, and requirements teams to ensure infrastructure supports application needs
  • Serve as a technical advisor to Government stakeholders and program leadership on cloud strategy and implementation
  • Troubleshoot and resolve cloud infrastructure and deployment issues across environments

Requirements

  • Active Secret Clearance
  • IAT Level II certification (CompTIA Security+ CE preferred)
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering/architecture, with a focus on AWS or similar cloud platforms
  • Strong experience with cloud-native architectures, microservices, and containerization (Kubernetes, Docker)
  • Expertise in cloud migration strategies, including application refactoring and modernization
  • Experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices
  • Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of cloud security practices and compliance frameworks
  • Experience working in Linux-based environments
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills

Preferred:

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect or equivalent cloud certification (Azure, GCP)
  • Experience supporting USTRANSCOM or DoD transportation/logistics systems
  • Experience with AWS GovCloud environments
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps toolchains (GitLab, Jenkins, Ansible, SonarQube, Nessus, Fortify
  • Experience implementing DoD security frameworks (RMF, STIGs, FedRAMP)
  • Experience supporting Agile/DevSecOps environments at scale
