Job description
The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer is a hands-on reporting and analytics developer responsible for building and scaling enterprise Power BI solutions across CenterWell Finance.
This position is remote; however, we will expect the candidate to work according to Eastern Standard Time or Central Standard Time.
This role is heavily focused on Power BI semantic modeling and financial reporting architecture. It also involves advanced SQL-based data transformation. The goal of these efforts is to allow standardized month-end reporting, executive dashboards, and governed self-service analytics.
Job Responsibilities

Design, develop, and own enterprise Power BI reporting solutions supporting month-end close, executive reporting, FP&A analysis, and operational finance insights across CenterWell.

Build and manage complex Power BI semantic models, financial reporting datasets, and reusable reporting assets aligned to centralized Finance definitions and hierarchies using advanced SQL-based transformation logic.

Translate Finance reporting and analytics requirements into scalable BI models and dashboards using Power BI and advanced SQL, ensuring performance, usability, and consistency across business units.

Consume and model curated Finance datasets from the centralized Snowflake and Databricks data platform, partnering with data engineering teams to ensure reporting-ready structures and understanding of cloud architecture.

Automate reporting workflows and distribution processes using Power Automate and BI orchestration patterns, supporting automated close reporting cycles, refresh monitoring, and notification processes. Reduce manual reporting steps and improve reliability through automation and standardized reporting frameworks.

Develop governed self-service datasets and reporting templates that enable Finance and business users to access standardized P&L-ready data with Power BI and Excel. Guide partners on consuming curated data assets and applying standardized reporting logic.

Collaborate with FP&A, Controllers, Accounting, and Finance leadership to deliver reporting and analytics solutions across Home, Pharmacy, and PCO.

Contribute to CenterWell Finance reporting modernization initiatives by building scalable analytics products that support financial visibility, automation, and decision-making., Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Analytics, Finance, Computer Science, or related field

5+ years of experience in BI or analytics development

Expert-level Power BI development experience (semantic modeling, DAX, financial reporting architecture)

Advanced SQL expertise for complex data transformation, modeling, and performance optimization in reporting environments

Hands-on experience building enterprise dashboards and financial reporting solutions

Experience working with cloud data platforms (Snowflake and/or Databricks)

Experience automating reporting workflows using Power Automate or similar tools

Experience with financial reporting and FP&A concepts

Experience working with large, complex datasets in enterprise environments

Ability to translate business requirements into scalable BI solutions

Strong communication skills with Finance and business stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting Finance or FP&A reporting environments

Experience with healthcare financial data (claims, membership, RCM)

Experience building governed self-service BI datasets or semantic layers

Familiarity with Databricks pipelines or cloud data engineering concepts

Experience with enterprise BI tools and analytics platforms

Advanced degree in Analytics, Information Systems, Finance, or related field
Benefits & conditions
The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$89,000 - $121,400 per year
This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
