Job description
In the role of Senior ICT (Information & Communication Technology)/Security Designer, we'll count on you to:
- Evaluate, select and apply state-of-the-art ICT/Security systems, techniques, procedures, design, and modifications.
- Design and specify ICT systems including but not limited to OSP and ISP fiber optic and copper backbones, horizontal cabling, bonding, cabling pathways, and telecom room design.
- Design and specify security systems including but not limited to Access Control, Intrusion Detection, and Video Surveillance.
- Regularly present designs in client-facing settings, representing HDR in a positive and professional manner.
- Assume lead designer role in a fast-paced design environment, taking responsibility for drawings and specifications for entire design discipline.
- Independently perform ICT/Security engineering assignments with broad general instruction from Project Manager as to the results expected.
- Regularly perform cross-discipline coordination to ensure fully coordinated scope.
- Mentor junior designers as needed to cross-train and grow the ICT/Security team.
- Conduct QA/QC of the work of other ICT/Security designers.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Requirements
- Ability to meet deadlines, handle multiple tasks independently, and deliver products on schedule and under budget.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).
- Ability to work in a high-velocity environment managing multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail and workmanship quality.
- Current BICSI RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Designer) credential holder.
- BICSI DCDC, OSP, or RTPM a plus.
- PSP (Physical Security Professional) is preferred.
- Experience with Data Centers and Federal Entities preferred.
- "Can-Do" attitude and problem-solving mind-set.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency or able to work in Bluebeam and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work in Revit, AutoCAD is preferred with the ability to learn new applications quickly.
- Knowledge of engineering drawings and design standards and practices.
- Strong desire for continuous learning and professional education., * Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or combination of education and relevant experience
- A minimum of 10 years experience in security system design and familiarity with Autodesk
- RCDD (Registered Communication Distribution Designer) helpful
