Job description
This role will own and support backend application services, integrations, and core business logic for a vendor developed application, acting as the backend technical owner on the client side. The resource will partner closely with the external vendor to troubleshoot and enhance backend services running in AWS, ensuring reliable functionality across development, test, and production environments. Responsibilities include supporting backend business logic, data processing, and service orchestration; diagnosing and resolving API integration issues with internal systems; validating configuration and deployment readiness; and assisting with bug fixes, performance tuning, and release support. The role will also ensure backend services meet enterprise standards for security, authentication, and access control using Okta or similar frameworks, support containerized and cloud native deployment patterns, and help stabilize production issues to ensure the application is scalable, secure, and maintainable long term.
Requirements
4-7+ years of backend engineering experience -Strong hands-on experience with Python, Node.js, or Java -Experience designing and supporting RESTful APIs and backend integrations -Strong cloud experience, AWS preferred (application hosting, data services, security) -Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred) -Familiarity with authentication and authorization frameworks (Okta or similar) -Experience working with vendor-developed applications and serving as a technical liaison -Comfortable collaborating with internal engineering, infrastructure, and security teams
