Job description

CACI's Enterprise IT (EIT) Sector is seeking a Network Operations Technician Journeyman to support an Air Force Modernization program.

As a Journeyman Network Operations Technician you will play a critical role responsible for providing network support to both classified and unclassified Air Force base area networks. This position requires an understanding of network infrastructure, protocols, and security measures to ensure the seamless operation of network systems., The Journeyman Network Operations Technician will work closely with the Communications Squadron support staff, network engineers, and other IT professionals to resolve complex network issues and maintain the integrity and security of the network environment.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring network performance and security using various monitoring tools
  • Performs routine maintenance and updates to network hardware and software
  • Identify and resolve network issues promptly to minimize downtime
  • Provide advanced technical support for network-related issues
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex network problems, including connectivity issues, performance bottlenecks, and security breaches
  • Develop and implement solutions to resolve network incidents and improve overall network performance
  • Ensures all network operations comply with Air Force security policies and procedures
  • Implement and maintain security measures to protect classified and unclassified data
  • Maintains accurate documentation of network configurations, procedures, and incident reports
  • Prepares and presents reports on network performance, issues, and improvements to management
  • Works closely with support staff, network engineers, and other IT personnel to ensure effective network operations
  • Communicates technical information clearly and concisely to non-technical stakeholders
  • Stays current with the latest network technologies, protocols, and security practices
  • Participates in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge

Requirements

Required:

  • Active Secret security clearance
  • Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of related work experience (HS diploma/associates degree plus 7+ years of experience in supporting large, complex DoD networks may be considered in lieu of bachelor's degree)
  • Direct O&M experience of Air Force Base Area Networks
  • DoD 8570 IAT II Baseline Certification (CompTIA Security+ CE or CCNA-SEC); CCNP or CCDP or equivalent
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Desired:

  • 3+ years of experience managing telecommunications and/or data center projects

The proposed salary range for this position is: $67,800 - $142,200
