Systems Admin

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for an System Administrator for a FULL TIME assignment with one of our premier Retail clients in White Plains, NY to support and maintain an on-site enterprise IT environment. This role focuses on building, managing, and optimizing server infrastructure, with an emphasis on automation, system deployment, and high availability. This is an onsite job (9AM - 5PM), 5 days per week. Responsibilities:

• Build and deploy Windows servers and virtual machines from the ground up
• Develop and maintain automation using PowerShell and Ansible
• Administer and support Windows Server environments
• Configure and maintain failover clusters and high-availability systems
• Support and manage Remote Desktop Services (RDS) and desktop infrastructure
• Perform patching, upgrades, and ongoing system maintenance
• Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP
• Maintain backup and recovery systems
• Troubleshoot infrastructure and desktop-related issues
• Document system configurations and processes

• 3-5+ years of system administration experience in an enterprise environment
• Strong PowerShell scripting skills (required)
• Experience with Ansible or similar automation tools
• Hands-on experience building servers and clusters from scratch
• Supporting Windows Failover Clustering and multiple Remote Desktop Services (RDS) farms to ensure high availability and performance
• Solid knowledge of Windows Server (2016+) and core infrastructure services
• Familiarity with virtualization platforms (e.g., Hyper-V)
• Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills

Nice to Have

• Experience with Linux system administration
• Experience with Microsoft Azure (VMs, networking, or identity services)
