Job description
The Hershey Company Robinson plant is a non-union facility producing products such as PayDay, Heath, Skor, Milk Duds, Whoppers, Reese's Pieces, and Mounds & Almond Joy in a high-speed, complex manufacturing environment.
The Reliability Lead is responsible for a business unit's overall asset reliability for the packaging line(s) and process area. The reliability lead will recommend maintenance strategies & drive process efficiencies in support of the Hershey Lean program.
Responsibilities:
· Accountable for the effectiveness of the maintenance planning and scheduling process (MP&S) through work-order (SAP) prioritization and development of the weekly maintenance schedule.
· Accountable for analyzing asset maintenance data and history to establish appropriate asset maintenance strategies, including preventative and predictive maintenance, that ensure sustainable reliability.
· Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure asset life-cycle management and spare parts inventory accuracy.
· Accountable for driving maintenance financial efficiency through routine initiation of PM Optimization Teams (PMOT).
· Assist in development of the 5-year capital plan
· Manage miscellaneous capital projects (<$150,000) to achieve scope, schedule, and cost objective.
· Accountable for the effectiveness of daily management systems (DMSs) supporting continuous improvement efforts, including defect handling (DH), breakdown elimination (BDE), and root cause analysis (RCA).
· Support equipment centerline (CL), cleaning, inspection, & lubrication (CIL), and autonomous maintenance activities.
· Participate in the daily direction setting (DDS) meetings by reporting on performance metrics, defects, and BDE status.
· Engages with mechanics and operators to provide training and coaching to promote ownership of equipment and processes.
Travel Requirements:
· Quarterly domestic travel (approx. 3 days) to conduct equipment reviews and factory assessment tests (FAT's) at vendor locations. A company credit card will be provided to cover travel-related expenses.
Requirements
· A combination of knowledge, experience, and proficiencies in the food or pharmaceutical industries & process systems that are applicable to the Hershey manufacturing processes, construction practices, food safety standards, and government codes & regulations to provide best in class maintenance and reliability practices.
· Ability to manage and develop both short term and long-term maintenance strategies for facility assets.
· Knowledge of reliability methods and practices to maintain asset performance
· A combination of knowledge and experience in design, specification, application, installation, commissioning, start-up and training for miscellaneous (< $150,000) capital projects.
· Sound judgment providing technical analyses, developing alternatives & recommendations (cost estimates, feasibility studies, specifications, and interpretation of requirements).
· Ability to effectively communicate and build consensus in a cross-functional environment.
· Ability to communicate and develop relationships with OEM vendors, contractors, internal customers, and all levels of management within the Hershey Company.
· Ability to participate in cross-functional troubleshooting teams to diagnose root cause issues and provide countermeasures for resolution.
· Provide the appropriate level of mentoring, coaching and training to team members.
· Ability and willingness to work in a team environment with limited supervision.
· Strong leadership & interpersonal skills and demonstrated willingness to accept new & challenging assignments.
· Excellent oral & written communication skills and strong PC skills.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
· Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Chemical / Mechanical / Industrial), Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology, and / or equivalent technical experience within The Hershey Company.
· Food or pharmaceutical experience
· Three (3) years of experience in operations, maintenance, maintenance planning, engineering, and/or reliability lead roles.
· Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), and Six-Sigma methodologies.
· Experience with SAP-S4 and/or other CMMS
