Job description
Quantum Science Solutions (QSS) is supporting a U.S. Government customer on a large, mission-critical development and sustainment program to design, build, deliver, and operate a network operations environment. This effort includes introducing advanced cyber capabilities to address emerging threats. As part of a broader consolidation and modernization strategy, this role contributes to the establishment of a centralized patching core team, focused on standardizing, automating, and strengthening patch management across multi-cloud Windows environments. The position plays a critical role in enhancing cybersecurity posture, improving operational efficiency, and enabling consistent, proactive patching practices across enterprise systems., * Support the design, deployment, and sustainment of enterprise Windows environments
- Assist in building and maintaining a unified, automated patching capability
- Standardize patching processes across environments
- Prioritize and execute critical updates aligned with cybersecurity objectives
- Leverage automation to reduce manual effort and increase consistency
- Support metrics development, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Engineer and implement standardized patching methodologies across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud environments
- Automate patch identification and deployment using tools such as AWS Systems Manager Patch Manager
- Conduct baseline assessments to identify process gaps, inefficiencies, and automation opportunities
- Refine patching workflows, metrics, and operational processes
- Integrate cloud-native services to enhance performance, resilience, and scalability
- Evaluate and implement AI-driven capabilities to improve patch management processes
- Contribute to enterprise cloud and DevOps standards, guidelines, and best practices
- Serve as a liaison between internal teams, government stakeholders, and tenants during patch cycles
- Establish and track metrics such as patch compliance, deployment timelines, and automation performance
- Participate in regular operational reviews to ensure alignment with priorities
- Support iterative improvements based on stakeholder feedback and operational data
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship
- Active Secret clearance (must be eligible for TS/SCI and DHS Suitability)
- 8+ years of applicable, hands-on experience
- Strong expertise with Windows Server 2022/2025 administration
- Experience building and securing Windows Server environments
- Experience with cloud-based patch management administration, * Experience with AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud platforms
- Understanding of Well-Architected Framework principles
- Experience with ServiceNow and SharePoint Server
- Advanced experience with Windows Server 2022/2025
- Experience in DevOps or automated infrastructure environments, * Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical field
- Additional experience may be substituted for education (2 years of experience per year of degree), * DoD 8570.1 IAT Level II (Required)
- AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Certification (Preferred)
