The Full Stack Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing frontend and backend software for a complex web application. Additionally, translating software requirements into working and maintainable solutions within the existing application frameworks., The Policy Administration System Development Lead is responsible for overseeing the development, enhancement, and maintenance of the company's existing policy administration system. This role plays a key part in ensuring the system supports business-as-usual(BAU) operations, regulatory compliance, and the introduction of new general insurance products. Working closely with business users, IT teams, and therd-party vendors, the lead ensures that system changes are delivered efficiently, meet business needs, and maintain high levels of system performance and reliability., Roles and Responsibilities:

Lead and manage ongoing development activities for the existing policy administration system, including BAU enhancements, defect fixes, and technical upgrades

Plan, coordinate, and deliver system changes required to support new product launches, regulatory compliance, and operational improvements.

Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and validate system requirements for enhancements and changes.

Manage a team of business analysts, developers, testers, and vendor partners to execute the system development roadmap.

Ensure system changes are well-documented and aligned with enterprise architecture and IT standards.

Coordinate release management and deployment planning across business and IT functions.

Monitor system performance and proactively identify areas for optimization and improvement.

Provide leadership and technical guidance for issue resolution, root cause analysis, and incident management.
Accountabilities:
Change Delivery: Ensure all system changes (BAU, regulatory, and product-related) are delivered on time, within scope, and to agreed quality standards. System Reliability: Maintain high availability, performance, and reliability of the policy administration system through robust change and incident management. Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the key liaison between business, IT, and external vendors to ensure alignment and transparency in delivery. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure timely and accurate implementation of regulatory changes as mandated by authorities or compliance functions. Product Enablement: Support the business in launching new general insurance products by delivering required system configurations and enhancements. Team Leadership: Lead and develop internal and external development teams, fostering a culture of accountability, agility, and continuous improvement. Risk Management: Identify, manage, and mitigate risks related to system development, release, and operations.

Requirements
Educational Qualification

Bachelor of Science Degree - Computer Science or related field is preferred

Project management certification is a plus

Additional certifications related to insurance technology plat forms or enterprise architecture are advantageous
Specific Qualifications
- Speak Japanese and English
Total Experience
-
10+ years of overall experience in insurance, technology, or business transformation roles
-
5+ years of direct experience leading large-scale policy administration system implementation or transformations

Successful end-to-end software design and implementation experience

Good understanding of SDLC and should have experience in all the phases of SDLC

Financial Service Industry - Should have a good understanding of critical Insurance processes or willing to learn insurance operations and business processes

High level understanding of infrastructure, database management technologies, and networking.
