Mid-Level Systems Engineer

Build, secure, and keep mission-critical systems running-where reliability, performance, and security truly matter. NS2 Mission is seeking a Mid-Level Systems Engineer to join our team in Tysons Corner, VA to support and maintain our applications infrastructure across complex network environments. In this role, you'll play a hands-on part in ensuring system stability, security compliance, and operational readiness while supporting technologies that our teams rely on every day., * Applications Infrastructure Support: Responsible for the applications infrastructure across all networks, ensuring systems operate reliably and securely.

• Security & Compliance: Provide technical support to maintain application security compliance and implement required technical precepts.
• System Design & Implementation: Design, install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
• Monitoring & Maintenance: Proactively monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to ensure high availability and reliability.
• Security, Backup & Redundancy: Implement and maintain security controls, backup strategies, and disaster recovery solutions.
• Automation & Scripting: Develop and maintain scripts to automate tasks and improve overall system efficiency.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues across hardware, software, and network components.
• Collaboration: Work closely with developers, management, and cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions.
• Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation for system architecture, processes, and support procedures.
• Technology Evaluation: Research and evaluate emerging technologies to support system improvements and future implementations.
• Operational Support: Contractually responsible to participate in an on-call rotation, providing 24/7 support as required.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Systems Engineer or in a similar technical role
• Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of network architecture, server administration, and virtualization technologies
• Automation & Scripting: Experience with scripting or automation tools (e.g., Python)
• Analytical Skills: Ability to see the big picture, analyze complex systems, and perform cost-benefit evaluations
• Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues
• Communication: Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Position Clearance Requirement:

TS/SCI with FSP
