Job description

The Data Engineer will work proactively with our software development team and clients to integrate them with our automation software and web applications for medical coding. This position maintains and monitors operational processes and provides general operational support to business units. Essentially, the Data Engineer is the owner of organizational data and processes, ensuring data integrity, availability, and accessibility. This position will leverage cutting-edge tools and cloud technologies to build resilient data architectures, optimize performance, and uphold best practices in data governance and compliance. This role offers the opportunity to tackle complex data challenges, contribute to transformative projects, and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our data ecosystem., + Ensures data accuracy, consistency, and security.

  • Focuses on designing, building, and maintaining data infrastructure and pipelines to collect, process, and store large volumes of data.

  • Works on the technical architecture of data systems, creating scalable and efficient solutions for data ingestion, transformation, and storage.

  • Builds and optimizes data pipelines and ensures data is accessible for analysts, data scientists, or other systems.

  • Emphasizes development and engineering of data systems, often requiring deeper programming and system design skills.

  • Automates repetitive data tasks and streamline workflows.

  • Monitor data pipelines, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and reliability of data systems.

  • Optimizes database queries and other operations to improve performance and responsiveness.

  • Communicates technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences, as well as collaborate with cross-functional teams.

  • Works directly with clients to perform data integrations.

  • Works with clients, development team, and project management to generate procedures and data definitions for onboarding of clients. Manages, validates, and executes client data integration.

  • Performs ad-hoc data analysis and reporting, and generates reporting infrastructure.

  • Compliance: References company policies; federal, state, and local laws; and industry resources to properly perform job duties.

  • Ethics: Conducts company business upholding MedKoder's core and team values.

  • All other duties, as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, in addition to experience with MS-SQL and SSRS/SSIS; or a combination of training, education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

  • Communicates effectively both in verbal and written communication.

  • Strong time management, interpersonal, and organizational skills are required; in addition to the demonstrated ability to work as a team player in a distributed team.

  • Position requires the ability to be an independent self-starter. Candidate will take ownership of complex business systems and is expected to head the maintenance and expansion of these systems.

  • Familiarity with the Microsoft development stack, software development practices and patterns, and experience with implementing and supporting enterprise-level solutions is a plus!
