Job description
As an Applied R&D Engineer, you will be part of the Event Driven Automation (EDA) backend group, working on the development and improvement of application software. Your focus will be on creating robust applications with eventual consistency, optimizing on-change streaming APIs, and contributing to Nokia's data center networking controller. This role offers an opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and a close-knit team.
- Develop application software in C++ and Golang for Kubernetes microservices environment
- Design and optimize on-change streaming APIs for memory, speed, and latency efficiency
- Create robust applications that can function under adverse conditions with eventual consistency
- Collaborate with a talented team of engineers and developers
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies
- Ensure code quality and maintainability through best practices
- Document and communicate technical designs and decisions
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback

Requirements
- BSCS or a similar degree is required, with work experience in related fields being an advantage
- Advanced knowledge of operating system fundamentals, including kernel operations, scheduling, and memory management
- Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms, with the ability to analyze performance
- Experience with software development on Linux platforms
- Excellent programming skills in C/C++ are preferred
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, and containerization is a plus
- Knowledge of complex software design for distributed systems in cloud or Kubernetes environments
- Experience working with databases and understanding of database management
- Proficiency in parsing and auto-complete techniques, such as recursive descent
- Ability to interact with management interfaces like gNMI, NETCONF, and REST
