Job description

As a Staff DRAM Product Applications Engineer, you will be a liaison between engineering teams and customers, focusing on validation, characterization, and integration of DRAM components (including HBM and GDDR). Lead product definition, quality improvements, and identify use cases for reduced-spec variants to meet customer objectives!

Role and Responsibilities:

Product Engineering & Validation

  • Lead validation and characterization of DRAM products on system platforms and next-generation processors.
  • Analyze yield and performance data to optimize reliability.
  • Conduct root-cause failure analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Define and update component specifications and technical documentation.

Customer Enablement & Applications

  • Develop application notes, design guides, and training materials.
  • Act as the primary technical contact for customer integration and troubleshooting.
  • Provide SI/PI guidance, memory controller timing recommendations, and bring-up support.
  • Partner with customers to co-create and qualify components for specific use cases.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Tools

  • Collaborate with R&D, design, manufacturing, and marketing to influence product features and roadmaps.
  • Drive test automation and data analysis using Python, Linux, and analytics platforms (e.g., JMP).
  • Prepare and present materials for Stage Gate reviews, communicating product strategy and specification trade-offs., Micron does not charge candidates any recruitment fees or unlawfully collect any other payment from candidates as consideration for their employment with Micron.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience in DRAM product or applications engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of DRAM architecture and standards (DDR4, DDR5, HBM, GDDR).
  • Deep understanding of system architecture and memory integration.
  • Proficiency in Python, Linux, and analytics tools (e.g., JMP).
  • Experience with high-frequency lab equipment and SI/PI fundamentals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills for customer and cross-functional engagement.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.

Benefits & conditions

The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:

$122,000.00 - $260,000.00 a year

Additional compensation may include benefits, bonuses and equity. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target base pay for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training.
