Job description
Are you looking for an opportunity to lead a team using modern tools and development practices? In this role, you will help lead the re-platforming of WFG's mission-critical systems. Our teams use spec-driven development and Kiro as an AI coding assistant -so engineers spend less time on boilerplate and more time on great design, reliability, and impact., * Lead collaborative design, coding, testing, and documentation.

Use Kiro to accelerate prototypes, documentation, and design validation.

Own major solution architecture and guide cross-team technical decisions.

Define non-functional standards for reliability, security, and observability.

Mentor Senior and Intermediate engineers.

Partner with business owners to understand needs and define technical plans.

Lead pairing, design reviews, and architecture workshops.
Requirements

Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.

Five years of Core Java or .NET experience.

Expertise in microservices, distributed systems, and cloud-native patterns.

Strong understanding of RDBMS and NoSQL.

Experience with CI/CD and DevOps.

Excellent communication and leadership skills., * Experience leading modernization/cloud transformation.

Experience with AI coding assistants is strongly preferred.

Experience with workflow engines (Appian) or telephony integrations (AWS Connect) is a plus.

Knowledge of financial services or compensation processing.

Experience with Sig sigma is a plus.

- Occasional Travel <10%, The Salary for this position generally ranges between $111,000 - $135,000 annually. Please note that the salary range is a good faith estimate for this position and actual starting pay is determined by several factors including qualifications, experience, geography, work location designation (in-office, hybrid, remote) and operational needs. Salary may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by applicable law.
Additionally, this position is typically eligible for an Annual Bonus based on the Company Bonus Plan/Individual Performance and is at the Company's discretion.

This is a hybrid position requiring three days in office per week in one of our hub locations (Philadelphia, PA; Cedar Rapids, IA; Denver, CO). Relocation assistance will not be provided for this position.
