Job description
We are seeking a highly qualified IT Project Manager with expertise in Workday Financials to support a large-scale enterprise system implementation for a state government agency.
The selected candidate will provide leadership, coordination, and oversight for the implementation and optimization of Workday Financial Management and Procurement solutions. This role requires close collaboration with Finance, Accounting, Procurement, IT stakeholders, and third-party vendors to ensure successful delivery of secure, scalable, and compliant ERP solutions., * Lead and manage Workday Financials and Procurement projects of moderate to high complexity, including implementation, enhancement, integration, and optimization initiatives
- Provide full lifecycle project management across Workday Financial modules, including:
- General Ledger (GL)
- Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Asset Management
- Procurement (requisitions, purchase orders, supplier management)
- Banking and Settlements
- Financial Reporting
- Collaborate with Finance and Procurement leadership to align system design with accounting policies, purchasing workflows, approval hierarchies, and compliance standards
- Coordinate with Workday functional leads, integration teams (EIB, Studio, Core Connectors), internal SMEs, and external vendors
- Oversee project deliverables including configuration, data conversion, integrations, testing cycles (SIT/UAT), and deployment readiness
- Facilitate business process analysis and redesign for:
- Procure-to-Pay (P2P)
- Record-to-Report (R2R)
- Supplier onboarding and management
- Financial reporting and controls
- Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, risk logs, and status reports
- Lead status meetings, manage scope changes, and communicate progress to executive stakeholders
- Support cutover planning, go-live execution, and post-implementation stabilization activities
- Ensure compliance with governance, audit, and regulatory requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- PMP certification (or equivalent project management certification)
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience leading IT projects of moderate to high complexity
- Minimum of three (3) years of hands-on experience leading ERP or server-based application development/enhancement projects
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience with Workday Financials
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, procurement processes, and financial reporting structures
- Experience managing ERP implementations and integrations
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project, SharePoint, and collaboration tools such as MS Teams
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, * Experience leading or coordinating vendor-managed implementations within the past three (3) years
- Prior experience working in a state or government environment
- Hands-on experience with:
- Workday Financial Management
- Workday Procurement Management
- Experience in outsourced or multi-vendor delivery environments
- Strong executive-level communication and stakeholder management skills, * Hybrid work model; candidate must be available to report onsite as required
- Selected candidate must be able to start within two (2) weeks of selection
- This position is contingent upon funding availability and project continuation
- Absences exceeding two (2) weeks must be pre-approved

- Hourly rate commensurate with experience, not to exceed $57.34/hour
