Job description

The Advanced Airborne RF Sensors department within the Space and Airborne Systems Engineering and Test Capability (SE&TC) Center seeks talented Systems Engineers. Our team located in North Texas (Plano and/or Mckinney) integrates hardware and software, develops test plans and procedures, debugs and evaluates system functions and interfaces, and verifies system requirements in support of final sell-off to the customer. We put our systems together, exercise them in the lab or in the field, measure and analyze performance, and make sure our products work the first time and every time. Every day is a different set of challenges to overcome. You'll be expected to collaborate across disciplines and partner to implement solutions. In this role, you'll get to know a little bit about every aspect of the system and have a direct hand in making it all work together supporting teams of engineers engaged in integration and test efforts.

You will support Radar Mode requirement development, engineering testing, integration and flight-testing, production, system deployment, and post deployment support across the product lifecycle. Through Digital Transformation (DTx) you will perform these functions using a variety of methods and enabling technologies, including Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Agile product development.

This position is an onsite role in McKinney, Texas. Test event support activity may require travel which is not expected to exceed 20%.

What You Will Do

  • Support planning and execution of Integration, Verification, or Troubleshoot Test activities in our labs, in the field, or at a Depot facility
  • Support activity may require travel
  • Support qualification of our products
  • Support troubleshooting and failure data analyses, including root cause and corrective action processes and advanced use of lab or field test equipment
  • Complete and compile detailed performance evaluations, including the use of analysis tools, such as MATLAB
  • Prepare and present results in reports and briefings to internal or external stakeholders
  • Support in managing engineering support activities related to test and trouble-shoot of hardware
  • Perform root-cause analysis & implement minor design changes
  • Maintain engineering specifications and drawings
  • Maintain engineering databases
  • Coordinate engineering tag up and meetings between the Program, System Engineering, and Chief Engineer
  • Resolve and coordinate system technical solutions with Engineering teams
  • Provide technical guidance and support to Engineering Integrated Product Team Leads (IPTLs)
  • Participate in periodic team meetings, interface teleconference meetings, working group meetings
  • Support associated with implementing process requirements
  • Support for mock up hardware repairs
  • Sustainment/Depot returns and repairs

Requirements

The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance, * Master's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)

  • This position requires 12 months or less of professional experience (excluding internships)

  • Experience with tools, such as Microsoft Office, MATLAB or Python, for data analysis and automation
  • Experience with troubleshooting technical issues with electronics in an academic or internship setting, including the use of common commercial test equipment (oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, etc.)

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience with radar or RF engineering
  • Experience with using telemetry data collection equipment to capture real time data and/or real time monitoring
  • Experience with electrical schematics, interface control documentation, and communications protocols
  • Experience with reading and integrating software routines with hardware/electronics; C/C++/C# preferred
  • Experience with instrumentation and collection of large data sets, including the application of scripting or automation to data collection and analysis

Benefits & conditions

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
