Job description
As a Software Developer supporting NAVAIR, you'll collaborate with talented professionals to create innovative, mission-critical solutions that empower naval aviation and defense operations. Your expertise will help shape cutting-edge systems, enhance national security, and drive technological advancement for our nation.
- Oversee and coordinate technical efforts, including research, design, development, testing, and manufacturing operations.
- Represent NAVAIR in collaboration with headquarters, contractors, and other government entities, providing expert technical advice and guidance.
- Review and evaluate data, reports, designs, and equipment to ensure contract compliance and approve changes as needed.
- Deliver systems engineering and scientific support, advising on requirements, technical issues, risks, and strategic planning in software development.
- Serve as a technical interface for hardware/software matters, provide real-time support for problem assessment, and guide program priorities.
- Perform complex scientific work and data analysis, solving diverse technical challenges and optimizing solutions within cost and schedule constraints.
- Lead and support integrated project teams, apply industry best practices, and coordinate segments of larger programs using tools such as risk management, configuration management, trade studies, and technical reviews.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in a technical field, with 8+ years of relevant experience.
- U.S. citizenship required, with an active Secret clearance.
- 3+ years of hands-on Acquisition Software Engineering experience.
- Proven background in engineering or computer science, with a focus on developing and delivering software systems.
- Skilled in requirements allocation, process management, open architecture, software integration, and testing.
- Deep understanding of designing, testing, and managing software systems for interoperability.
- Familiarity with military avionics systems, components, and related software design attributes-highly valued.
- Experience with methods and tools for Avionics and Weapons Systems, including best practices for technology integration-highly desired.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively across all organizational levels, including resolving conflicting information and viewpoints.
Benefits & conditions
JHNA is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employees. The salary range for this position is $125,000-$175,000.00. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
