Job description
IT Operations Technician/Reliability Engineer full-time, on-site position based in our Bloomingdale and St. Charles facilities
- Own the operator experience by ensuring every interaction with technology is frictionless, intuitive, and efficient. Minimize time spent on screens and maximize production output.
- Design and maintain error-proof (Poka-Yoke) systems that make it impossible for operators to select incorrect recipes or input wrong data. Accuracy should be the only possible outcome.
- Ensure consistency in UI/UX across all tablets and stations, reducing cognitive load and enabling seamless operation across the floor.
- Maintain the integrity of Work Order logic, ensuring the correct recipes are automatically triggered for each job.
- Own the "handshake" between database systems and production equipment, guaranteeing 100% reliability in communication and execution.
- Perform regular floor walks to verify that machines are executing instructions correctly, including templates, lot codes, and configurations.
- Ensure closed-loop, bi-directional data flow between equipment and systems, confirming real-time feedback and tracking against active work orders.
- Administer Mobile Device Management (MDM) systems to enforce strict kiosk-mode environments on operator tablets.
- Ensure devices are locked down to only essential functions-eliminating distractions, preventing misconfiguration, and maintaining system integrity.
- Proactively identify and eliminate any operational friction or manual workarounds that slow down production.
- Adopt a "zero-touch" mentality-automating processes wherever possible to streamline workflows and improve efficiency.
- Respond with urgency to system failures, data mapping issues, or work order disruptions to prevent downtime and maintain production continuity.
