Job description
The Scrum Master coordinates the work of an Agile development team and oversees the software development lifecycle. This role involves planning and facilitating scrum activities such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, demos, board reviews, and retrospectives. The Scrum Master collaborates with clients or end users to understand business requirements and acts as a liaison between development teams and product management to ensure appropriate project processes are followed. Additionally, they identify and resolve impediments that may slow development or prevent the team from meeting established goals or milestones. Ensure their team is able to organize and follow the scrum and Client processes (Product Development Process). Help ensure all their team members have taken the appropriate step on stories so their team is a well-oiled machine. Remove Impediments, encourage the team to work only on task, and encourage Dev Manager to plan. Conduct Retrospectives, and schedule Backlog Grooming.
Your Role:
- Plan and facilitate scrum activities, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, demos, board reviews, and retrospectives.
- Ensuring the breakdown of work. Force the breakdown of stories into substories, tasks, spikes, etc.
- Help build the schedule for deliverables. (Development timeline, PMO would be ultimately responsible for the schedule).
- Resource mapping/loading, what is our capacity? (Project is what we need to do, team should be focused on who needs to do what).
- Strategically identify if the schedule requires more resources than the team currently has. Resource balancing.
- Collaborate with clients or end users to understand business requirements.
- Act as a liaison between development teams and product management to ensure appropriate project processes are followed.
- Identify and resolve impediments that may slow development or prevent the team from meeting established goals or milestones.
- Work with team members on backlog and processes.
- Understand and remove impediments to the scrum process.
- Escalation of risk issues outside of the development group to other management levels. (if we fall behind during the sprint, we don't just accept that, we try to push it and identify what can be done).
Requirements
- 7+ Years of related experience engineering field.
- Bachelor's degree in related technical field.
- Scrum Master with hands-on experience working with cross functional Agile teams across the following engineering disciplines:
- Mechanical / Electrical Engineering
- Electronics, Embedded Systems & Mechatronics
- Software Development & Validation / Testing
- Functional Safety (ISO 26262 or equivalent standards
- Proficiency in scrum tools (e.g. JIRA)
- Certification (e.g., Certified ScrumMaster - CSM) is often preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and Scrum framework.
Benefits & conditions
The base compensation range for this role in the posted location is: $65,200 - $169,000/Year
Capgemini provides compensation range information in accordance with applicable national, state, provincial, and local pay transparency laws. The base compensation range listed for this position reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation Capgemini, in good faith, believes it may pay for the role at the time of this posting. This range may be subject to change as permitted by law.
The actual compensation offered to any candidate may fall outside of the posted range and will be determined based on multiple factors legally permitted in the applicable jurisdiction.
These may include, but are not limited to: Geographic location, Education and qualifications, Certifications and licenses, Relevant experience and skills, Seniority and performance, Market and business consideration, Internal pay equity.
It is not typical for candidates to be hired at or near the top of the posted compensation range.
In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for additional compensation such as variable incentives, bonuses, or commissions, depending on the position and applicable laws.
