The AUKUS, Submarines, and Industrial Base Group (ASIG), within the Sea, Land, Air Division, provides timely, objective, analytic assessments that integrate technical, operational, programmatic, policy and business analysis to NAVSEA Team Submarine program offices and key stakeholders surrounding submarine platform construction. Team Submarine unifies submarine platform procurement activities, which includes the Columbia-class SSBN program (a Major Defense Acquisition Program and the Navy's top acquisition priority), the Virginia-class SSN program and the new SSN-X program (developing the next generation attack submarine), to bring improved capabilities to our undersea forces. Analysts and Engineers supporting Team Submarine will continue SPA's decades of support to the SSBN force, as well as supporting oversight of cutting-edge attack submarine construction, assisting in developing the design requirements for the SSN platform of the future, and helping plan and execute new and innovative strategies to strengthen the critical submarine shipbuilding industrial base. These are high-profile, major acquisition and manufacturing programs of significant importance to the future capabilities of the US Navy in an era of renewed strategic competition. #MC, SPA is seeking an IT/Knowledge Manager who is responsible for overseeing the organization's knowledge management systems and ensuring that information is effectively captured, shared, and utilized. This role involves developing and implementing strategies for knowledge management, maintaining the integrity and security of the company's knowledge base, and training staff on how to use these systems. This person will work with government clients, specifically supporting DRPM Subs, to understand their current and future system needs, offering solutions and designs based on new technologies and projected requirements. A key part of the job is to support program leadership by using systems that meet customer guidelines and ensure that project scope, deliverables, and schedules are well-defined and maintained. The manager will also use analytical techniques to evaluate and improve knowledge management processes, developing strategies to reduce risks and enhance planning and execution.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in IT, knowledge management, or a related field.
- Proven ability to manage and implement IT projects and knowledge systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess and improve systems.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities to work with clients and internal teams., * Certified Knowledge Manager (CKM) are highly desirable.
- Experience working in a government or contracting environment.
- Familiarity with SharePoint or other knowledge management platforms.
