Job description
The Sr Core Engineer is a high performing contributor responsible for supporting the design, implementation, and optimization of core IT services. This role ensures the performance, security, and scalability of systems that are critical to global infrastructure and end-user computing operations. The position supports enterprise environments through advanced troubleshooting, system optimization, automation, and collaboration with cross-functional IT teams., * Provides third level endpoint and Windows Server support, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of hardware, software, and peripherals across local and remote locations.

Troubleshoots complex technical issues using desktop remote-control tools and other diagnostic methods.

Utilizes IT service management tools to track, update, and close incidents.

Supports the deployment, maintenance, and testing of operating system images, software deployments, and patch revisions, including building automated installation packages and Windows scripting as needed.

Collaborates with internal IT teams, IS management, support center personnel, vendors, and application teams to resolve issues and support business operations.

Supports third-party vendors providing services by coordinating technical activities and issue resolution as needed.

Provides technical leadership and mentorship to Core Engineers and other IT staff.

Participates in small to large infrastructure and endpoint-related projects, contributing to timely completion and operational stability.

Work as a team to maintain the SLA of incoming tickets in the queue.

Assists with the recovery and disposition of unused systems and supports upkeep of lab and staging environments.

Supports special projects, including travel, when business needs arise.

Performs other duties as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent education and/or experience.
- 4-6 years relevant experience or equivalent education and/or experience.

Familiarity with Windows Server OS platforms, including:

Image builds, patch baselines, WSUS/SCCM, and operating system hardening
Experience with VSphere / VM management
Exposure to FTP environments, including provisioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting
Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Exchange Online, including:
- Exchange, Teams, SharePoint/OneDrive, and compliance & retention features
Experience supporting directory services, including:
- Active Directory / LDAP / Entra ID
- Forest and domain design, replication, DFS, GPOs, and domain controller management
Familiarity with PKI and certificate services, including:
- Enterprise CA, certificate lifecycle management, CRL/OCSP, and key management
Exposure to email security technologies, including:
- SEG/MDO, anti-phishing, spam and malware protection
- DMARC, DKIM, and SPF policies
- Tools such as Mimecast and Cloudflare
Working knowledge of DDI services (DNS/DHCP/IPAM), including:
- Authoritative zones, DHCP scopes, IPAM governance, and split-horizon
- Tools such as Infoblox
Programming, scripting, or automation experience is a plus
