Job description
- Own and support the end-to-end analytical process for people-related business questions and outcomes spanning the employee life cycle
- Translate often ambiguous business questions/needs into appropriate analytical problems, do high-quality analysis, and turn outputs into concrete, actionable business insights
- Analytical projects will range from proactive, complex, longer term deliverables to very short-fused, reactive, quick-and-dirty insights we can provide "just-in-time" in order to impact a decision that will be made immediately
- Contract with customers, partners, and co-workers to define research questions, analysis plans, and deliverable timelines
- Work directly with data, from initial extraction through preliminary statistical analysis to results validation
- Translate findings into succinct, actionable business insights, often in coordination with partners who help you tell a holistic story
- Communicate results effectively for impact, and provide follow-up insights in a timely manner
- Adapt quickly to shifting business priorities and work effectively under pressure with multiple deliverables and deadlines
- Self-directed learning with a passion for innovation and discovering new insights

We are looking for someone to do just that in the context of Microsoft's biggest asset - our people., * Master's Degree in Mathematics, Analytics, Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Economics or related field OR Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Analytics, Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Economics or related field AND 2+ years experience in data analysis and reporting, data science, business intelligence, or business and financial analysis OR equivalent experience., * Master's Degree in Mathematics, Analytics, Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Economics or related field AND 3+ years experience in data analysis and reporting, data science, business intelligence, or business and financial analysis OR Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Analytics, Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Economics or related field AND 5+ years experience in data analysis and reporting, data science, business intelligence, or business and financial analysis OR equivalent experience.
- Strong statistical analysis skills and knowledge of statistical software (for example, Python or R), including the application of multivariate models.
- Strong attention to detail, high commitment to accuracy, and adherence to data privacy and confidentiality
Data Analytics IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $85,100 - $169,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $112,000 - $185,300 per year.
