What you will be doing: In this postion you will be helping Alaskans access programs that support independence and quality care by coordinating timely and accurate assessment appointments for ALI, APDD, PCS, and CFC. Each month, you manage a high volume of scheduling, typically arranging around 100 assessments and creating HIPAA-protected Zoom links for more than 200. You also ensure accessibility by coordinating interpreter services when needed.

You'll collaborate frequently with Assessors, clients, legal representatives, PCS agencies, care coordinators, assisted living homes, and other partners. Your organization and attention to detail will be essential for maintaining accurate documentation and ensuring all required notifications are completed in compliance with state and federal regulations.

The working environment you can expect: This position is located in Anchorage, Alaska.

Our office is in Northeast Anchorage (1835 Bragaw St Ste 350). It is near Costco, East High School, various restaurants, and a coffee shop. Parking is readily available at the building. Our team consists of 18 assessors, 3 supervisors, and 2 support staff who work closely and cooperatively under the direction of the Assessment Unit Manager. Our working environment is supportive and collaborative, where we believe in helping each other succeed.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess some or all of the following competencies in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications listed below

  • Customer Service: Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
  • Computer Skills: Uses computers, software applications, databases, and automated systems to accomplish work.
  • Oral and Written Communication: Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral and written presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately., High school graduation or equivalent:

Three years of clerical experience with one year of experience in public health, health care services, senior services, medical assistance programs, health education, nursing, medical social work, health services administration, or a closely related field.

Substitution: College education from an accredited college with a course emphasis in social services or a related field may substitute for the required experience., If education is completed in a foreign college or university, it may be used to meet the above requirements, if applicable. If utilizing this education, you must show that the education credentials have been submitted to a private organization that specializes in the interpretation of foreign educational credentials and that such education has been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education programs or an accredited U.S. state university reports the other institution as one whose transcript is given full value, or full value is given in subject areas applicable to the curricula at the state university. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
