Job description
- Serves as the installation Drug Testing Program Administrative Manager (DTPAM) for the DoD military, Cadets and civilian drug testing programs.
- Performs the administrative management duties associated with the installation Drug Demand Reduction Program.
- Performs administrative duties such as filing, records maintenance, data entry, and updates.
- Performs education and training duties associated with drug use/abuse prevention., * U.S. Citizenship Required

- Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period.

- Knowledge of DoD drug testing portal is highly desirable.
- May be required to travel by military/commercial aircraft in the performance of temporary duty assignments.
- Incumbent must maintain strict confidentiality about aspects of the program due to the impact of testing results.
- Must not have a record of conviction by courts-martial, civilian criminal court, non-judicial punishment under Article 15, UCMJ, or a Letter of Reprimand or similar administrative action for misconduct involving dishonesty, fraud, or drug abuse.
- Have no pending civilian criminal action or pending administrative action (Separation, Letter of Reprimand/Counseling/Admonishment for dishonesty, fraud or other integrity offenses) IAW with operational regulations.
- This position may, at times, work evenings, weekends and/or holidays in order to observe, collect, and store specimens.
- This position may access local community venues for outreach activities (i.e., Red Ribbon Week), which in some cases involves working with children on base and in the community. continued-

- Individual must not have a medical or mental health condition that precludes the individual from responsibly performing assigned duties.
- This is a Mission-Essential position performing a Mission-Critical-Function which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency and continued through full resumption of all functions.
- The work requires the employee to drive a motor vehicle. An appropriate, valid driver's license is required for the position.
- This position has been designated as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. continued-

Requirements
In order to qualify, you must meet the Specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-06, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge (such as would be acquired through pertinent education, experience, training, or independent study) of basic principles, concepts, and methodology of a professional or administrative occupation, and skill in applying this knowledge in carrying out elementary assignments, operations, or procedures.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-06 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-07 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
- Knowledge of the Drug Demand Reduction Program, sufficient to gather data, compile reports, and make recommendations based upon analysis of factual information.
- Knowledge of the conventional principles of forensic/forensic processes, chain of custody, medical terminology, testing concepts, and established procedures as related to drug specimen collection, packaging, inspecting, shipping, and results disposition.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, and skilled in using DoD DDR databases and office automation programs to present briefings, train, and prepare status reports.
- Ability to safeguard confidential drug testing information.
- Ability to administratively manage a program to include projecting and ordering equipment and supplies, forecasting abudget, and maintaining documentation.
