Job description
The Department of Technology, Management and Budget supports the business operations of state agencies through a variety of services including Information Technology project delivery, maintenance and support. This position is within Agency Services MDE, CEPI, MDCR, MCSC, and MiLEAP.
We are looking for a person that understands the value of public service in a diverse environment and wants to help us meet the needs of our citizens. This person needs to be an excellent communicator, meaning they can explain things to an individual or large group in a way that they can understand and relate to, not necessarily an orator. As the first line manager supporting Michigan Lifelong Education, Advancement, and Potential (MiLEAP), you will plan, direct, and coordinate unit activities to ensure the objectives and goals are met within prescribed priorities, time limitations, and budgets. The MiLEAP Development Unit supports the following business processes, + Relevant experience and/or education referred to in the supplemental questions must be documented in the resume, transcript and/or application to allow for accurate screening.

A bachelor's degree or higher with at least 21 semester (32 term) credits in one or a combination of the following: computer science, data processing, computer information systems, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, information assurance, IT project management, or mathematics and at least three years of post-degree professional experience equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure or Programmer/Analyst P11 or one year equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure, Project or Programmer/Analyst 12. If so, please attach a copy of your official college transcripts. OR An associate's degree with 16 semester (24 term) credits in one or a combination of the following: computer science, data processing, computer information systems, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, project management, mathematics or equivalent; and at least two years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, or information technology technician; and three years of professional experience equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure, Project, or Programmer/Analyst P11 or one year equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure, Project, or Programmer/Analyst 12. If so, please attach a copy of your official college transcripts. Up to $1,750 to be paid upon new hire and the remainder to be paid after satisfactory completion of the initial probationary period (12-month period). This does not apply to current state employees.
Position Location/Remote Office: The office location is Lansing, MI. The State of Michigan is not able to offer employment to out-of-state applicants that do not plan to relocate. The Department of Technology Management and Budget currently offers a hybrid work option which requires two days working on-site at the official work location and three days of remote work per week.
