Job description

We are seeking a seasoned Unix System Engineer to provide expert-level design, support, and integration for our critical enterprise infrastructure. This role is pivotal in ensuring the stability, security, and scalability of our Unix-based systems, including RedHat Linux, Ansible, and VMWare.

This role is eligible for our Flex 1m Persona. For candidates local to our Boston, MA and Hingham MA offices.

Your Day to Day

Provide expertise for the design and support of Unix Enterprise Infrastructure systems, including RedHat Linux, Ansible, VMWare, ServiceNow ITIL, and Vulnerability Management. Ensure the seamless integration and synchronization of business applications, security, and infrastructure technologies, while participating in the development of infrastructure requirements with business, architecture, and solution teams. Take responsibility for production support, design, planning, implementation, functional testing, troubleshooting, and protection of corporate assets, which involves proactive monitoring of systems to support both existing and new applications. Work closely with Architects, Developers, Business Analysts, and Project Managers, sharing your deep technical expertise in server operating systems, VMware, and storage platforms to help lead the introduction of new technology projects into production.

Requirements

  • A candidate with at least 10 years of experience in server administration, with a focus on Unix and VMware environments.

  • A minimum of 5 years of dedicated experience in providing Enterprise-level support for Unix solutions.

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, Electronic Engineering, or a related field is preferred; however, equivalent professional experience will be strongly considered.

What You Bring:

  • Expert-level knowledge of Unix platforms, particularly RedHat Enterprise Linux, Satellite, and Ansible.

  • Foundational knowledge or above of VMware platform.

  • Strong scripting skills and a proven ability to automate processes.

  • Expert analytical and troubleshooting capabilities.

  • Experience with monitoring solutions such as Nagios, Ganglia, or Solarwinds, and knowledge of High Availability and Disaster Recovery Solutions.

  • Familiarity with ServiceNow, or other ITIL-based solutions., High school degree or equivalent required unless otherwise noted above

Benefits & conditions

Salary Range: $129,857.25 - $162,470.00

The job posting range is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs and affordability.

This job is also eligible for variable pay.
