Job description
- Architect, design, develop, and test large-scale, efficient data solutions that support critical business insights
- Design and implement scalable, high-quality methods for ingesting and processing data from a wide variety of sources with varying quality and reliability
- Build and maintain robust data pipelines that ensure accuracy, reliability, and timeliness of data
- Create reusable data products that enable self-service analytics and predictable consumption patterns for downstream users
- Develop shared libraries, tools, and frameworks that improve leverage, consistency, and productivity across the engineering team
- Optimize and maintain existing data platforms, driving continuous improvements in performance, efficiency, data quality, and operational excellence
- Partner with stakeholders to understand data needs and translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 6+ years of professional software development experience, with a strong focus on data engineering or data platforms
- Hands-on experience with modern data and stream-processing technologies, including Python, Java, and/or Scala
- Experience with data orchestration and processing tools such as Airflow, Spark, Trino, and streaming platforms like Kafka
- Familiarity with containerization and data storage technologies such as Docker and Apache Iceberg
- Strong SQL skills and experience designing and optimizing complex data models and queries
- Experience using Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform) and container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes
- Proven experience building and operating data systems in cloud environments, including AWS, GCP, or Azure

Slalom is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For this position, the pay range is $52/hr to $62/hr. Actual compensation will depend upon an individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
