Job description

As a Senior Software Engineer, you are a recognized technical leader who drives the engineering strategy, mentors team members, and partners with cross-functional teams to deliver complex end-to-end AI solutions. Your work focuses on architecting and implementing robust systems in ambiguous problem areas where both the business problem and solution approach need to be defined. The problems you tackle require significant technical innovation at the product level - from guiding less experienced sellers through campaign setup to automatically surfacing optimization opportunities that unlock advertiser success.

You take ownership of the long-term technical vision, product roadmaps, and technologies, defining how they should evolve. You build consensus through thoughtful discussions with stakeholders, scientists, and engineering peers across multiple teams. You bring deep expertise to provide context for current and future technology choices, and make strategic recommendations on system architecture and implementation approaches to achieve transformative business outcomes - ultimately strengthening Amazon's advertising ecosystem and helping more advertisers thrive., Design and implement core components of the Ads Agent Orchestration platform including agent runtime, MCP server integrations, and skill/tool frameworks

  • Build and maintain production services handling real-time agent interactions with advertising APIs (campaign management, bidding, reporting)
  • Develop evaluation and observability infrastructure for agentic systems (OTEL tracing, CloudWatch integration, automated eval harnesses)
  • Drive technical design for new features end-to-end: write design docs, lead reviews, implement, test, and deploy
  • Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, design guidance, and pair programming
  • Contribute to operational excellence: on-call rotations, runbook development, and incident response
  • Collaborate with Applied Scientists and partner teams to integrate ML models and agent capabilities into production systems

A day in the life

  • Write and review code for agent orchestration services (Python, TypeScript/CDK)
  • Participate in design reviews and sprint planning
  • Debug and resolve production issues across the agent request path (A3C * DX MCP Gateway * AgentCore * AdsFabricSDK * Strands/Bedrock)
  • Review and merge pull requests from teammates
  • Collaborate with partner teams on API contracts and integration testing
  • Contribute to team technical discussions and architecture decisions

About the team You will join the Ads Agent Orchestration team within Amazon Advertising's Full Funnel Agentic Intelligence organization. Our team builds the platform that powers AI agents capable of understanding advertiser goals and autonomously executing advertising strategies across Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands, Sponsored Display, and DSP. We work with technologies including large language models, multi-agent orchestration frameworks, and the Model Context Protocol (MCP) standard. The team operates in a fast-paced, high-ownership environment where engineers ship production AI systems that serve millions of advertisers.
