Requirements

SAIC is seeking a highly motivated mid-level Infrastructure Engineer with a background in datacenter virtualization, private cloud, Windows and Linux server design and deployment, and multi-domain operations. The engineer will be responsible for designing and deploying creative solutions using various technologies that improve and expand the capabilities of scientists and engineers in a laboratory environment and across multiple security domains. The engineer will be a part of a multi-disciplinary engineering team and will work with teammates to establish design and operating principles, communicate and establish requirements, and deploy solutions.

We are looking for someone who will work equally well in a team as on their own and has the discipline, focus and ability to work within the Agile framework., * Experience designing and deploying multi-cluster solutions using VMWare and related technologies such as VSAN, Horizon, and Nvidia GRID

  • Experience operating Microsoft Active Directory and dependent services such as DNS and DHCP
  • Experience configuring multiple different versions of Windows to meet complex configuration needs using tools like MECM and GPO
  • Experience configuring non-Windows operating systems to utilize MS AD authentication and services
  • Experience with configuration management and/or IaaS solutions such as Ansible or Packer
  • Demonstrable knowledge of computing and networking technologies to design and troubleshoot multi-disciplinary solutions
  • Knowledge of server hardware, software, and storage technologies and options
  • Knowledge of and ability to implement industry best-practices and applicable STIGs in a manner that does not impede system functionality
  • Ability to research, understand, and implement new technologies and solutions
  • Ability to use Agile tools such as JIRA or YouTrack
  • Ability to manage the time and tasks for their projects and team members
  • Applicant must have and be able to maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance
  • Applicant must have certifications that meet DOD 8570 requirements for security and computing environments, * Experience with cloud/cloud-native Kubernetes-based infrastructure
  • Experience with high-powered compute (HPC) infrastructure
  • Experience with cloud-specific operation and security principles
  • Knowledge of platform as a service (PaaS) and automated systems deployment
  • Knowledge of physical and virtual networking concepts and tools
