Job description
The Senior Systems Engineer plays a critical role in the Engineering/Systems Administration team, responsible for planning, implementing, and maintaining enterprise-level operating system capabilities and infrastructure. This position requires expertise in designing, developing, troubleshooting, and supporting software programs and hardware infrastructure for both new product enhancements and the sustainability of current production systems. The role encompasses comprehensive management of operating systems, networks, security infrastructure, utilities, and web resources while ensuring the highest standards of availability, security, and compliance., * Lead incident response, troubleshooting, and remediation efforts for all IT business infrastructure systems, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations
- Plan, implement, and document systems and infrastructure solutions that align with organizational objectives and industry best practices
- Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure to ensure compliance with company guidelines, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) standards
- Maintain the highest level of systems and infrastructure availability through proactive monitoring, preventive maintenance, and rapid issue resolution
- Execute infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and modernization initiatives including operating system upgrades, hardware replacements, and virtualization platform enhancements
Requirements
- Operating Systems: Windows Server environments, Windows 11 deployment and management, virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI)
- Virtualization: VMware (7.0, 8.0+), virtual machine management, resource optimization
- Networking: Network infrastructure, switch configuration and replacement, connectivity troubleshooting
- Security: Multi-Factor Authentication implementation, TLS/SSL encryption, certificate management, security patching
- Database: SQL Server administration, backup/recovery, performance optimization, user access management
- Disaster Recovery: DR planning, testing, and execution; Recovery Time Objective (RTO) management
- Change Management: Experience with formal change management processes, documentation, and compliance requirements
- Scripting/Automation: PowerShell, batch scripting, automation tools
- Monitoring Tools: System monitoring, performance analysis, capacity planning
Educational Requirements
- University (Degree) Preferred
Work Experience
- 3+ Years Required; 5+ Years Preferred, * 3+ years' Experience in systems engineering and/or infrastructure administration or other related technical roles
- Experience with enterprise-level systems and/or infrastructure management, * Bachelor's degree
- 5+ years' Experience in systems engineering and/or infrastructure administration or other relative technical roles
- Proven track record of successful project completion and technical problem-solving
- Experience with change management processes and compliance requirements preferred
- Background in security implementations (MFA, encryption, compliance) highly valued
- Willingness to participate in on-call rotation and respond to emergency situations
- Flexibility to work outside standard business hours for scheduled maintenance windows and DR exercises
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
