Job description

  • Provides senior-level Oracle database administration support for large, complex, production database environments.
  • Performs installation, configuration, upgrade, patching, monitoring, and maintenance of Oracle databases (11.x, 12.x, and higher).
  • Provides day-to-day operational support and maintenance for Oracle databases, including 24x7 production and on-call troubleshooting support.
  • Develops, maintains, and optimizes database objects using Oracle SQL and PL/SQL, including packages, procedures, functions, views, cursors, and complex business logic.
  • Conducts database performance tuning and optimization, including indexing strategies, partitioning, compression, and query optimization.
  • Manages Oracle storage using Oracle Automatic Storage Management (ASM) and supports Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) configurations.
  • Supports database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery activities to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Troubleshoots Oracle product issues and performs root cause analysis and resolution of database-related incidents.
  • Configures and supports Oracle databases running on Linux (12c or higher) and UNIX-based operating systems.
  • Supports spatial data management and analysis using Oracle Spatial and Graph, including physical, network, and social graph data models.
  • Works directly with onsite and offsite customers to gather requirements, analyze needs, and implement database solutions.
  • Documents database configurations, standards, procedures, and operational activities in accordance with enterprise and DCoE standards.
  • Works independently while coordinating with application teams, system administrators, and cybersecurity personnel to support mission operations.

Requirements

Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, Five (5) or more years of hands-on experience as an Oracle Database Administrator supporting enterprise production databases. Experience must include administration of Oracle databases (11g, 12c, or higher), SQL and PL/SQL development, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and operational support in a multi-tiered environment. The individual must demonstrate the ability to support mission-critical systems and respond to operational issues in a 24x7 production environment., A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field is required. Fifteen (15) years of applicable experience may be substituted for degree requirements. ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE AREAS PREFERRED:

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience performing database administration duties, specializing in Oracle and SQL.
  • Extensive experience with Oracle SQL and PL/SQL, includingdevelopment of complex queries and database objects.
  • Deep knowledge of Oracle performance tuning, partitioning, indexing, and compression techniques.
  • Hands-on experience supporting large-scale, multi-tiered production database environments.
  • Experience with Oracle product troubleshooting and problem resolution.
  • Experience configuring and administering Oracle databases on Linux and UNIX platforms.
  • Experience with operating systems including Sun Solaris 10.0 or later and Red Hat Linux 6.x or later.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills., While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle, feel, touch; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is regularly required to lift up to 10 pounds. The employee is frequently required to lift up to 25 pounds; and up to 50 pounds. The vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
