Job description

Our client is seeking a reliable, hands-on Field IT Support Technician to provide essential technical assistance at a construction and industrial site in Indianapolis. This is a "boots on the ground" role perfect for someone who enjoys a non-traditional office environment and thrives on solving immediate, practical problems. You will be the primary point of contact for contractors and staff on-site, ensuring their daily operations remain seamless. For complex infrastructure or server-level issues, you will have a direct line to the corporate IT team for escalation., * On-Site Troubleshooting: Provide "desk-side" (or bench-side) support for basic hardware and software issues.

  • Peripheral Support: Resolve immediate frustrations, such as malfunctioning mice, keyboards, printers, or connectivity issues.
  • User Assistance: Help contractors and field staff navigate basic software tools and hardware setups.
  • Triage & Escalation: Identify issues that exceed basic support (e.g., server outages or network-wide failures) and coordinate with corporate IT for resolution.
  • Reliability: Maintain a consistent presence on-site during designated hours to build trust with the local team.

Requirements

  • Experience: At least 1 year of experience in an IT support or help desk role.
  • Environment: Must be comfortable working in a construction/industrial site environment (appropriate footwear and safety awareness are required).
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Windows OS, basic hardware troubleshooting, and peripheral connectivity.
  • Communication: Ability to explain technical solutions to non-technical staff in a clear, friendly manner.
  • Autonomy: Ability to work independently and know when to escalate issues to corporate.
