Job description
Assists and trains facilities in the development and implementation of SQF and Shearer's Quality and Food Safety systems and procedures. Coordinates activities and meetings required to support these programs. Assures corrective action follow up and completion. Coordinates internal quality and food safety systems audits, tracks and reports on corrective actions. Evaluates opportunities for continuous improvement and supports plants in the development and implementation of those projects., * Supports QA Manager relative to quality and food safety by writing plant work instructions and procedures, evaluating
processes, developing standards, etc.

Technical resource and coach for Production in SQF standards and Food Safety plan requirements.

Administers plant change management program

Conduct training and support implementation of Shearer's Quality and Food Safety systems

Manage document control in the plant and ensure the procedures are reviewed by the owners according to policy. Manages
document change control within the plant.

Manage and organize the plant QFSS library
-
Coordinates Plant Self Internal Audits to assess compliance of the plant to Quality and Food Safety System requirements

Assists QA Manager during SQF, AIB, or other 3rd party or customer audits
-
Report on and track corrective actions relative to SQF, AIB, and other 3rd party or customer audits.

Monitors the CAPA completion progress of the facility

Conducts required risk assessments with QA Manager and reviews them annually.

Assist facilities in initiating as well as participating in continuous improvement projects

Where needed, provides support to the plant regarding validation of new and transferred products.

Partners with Quality Engineer and uses tools such as Infinity QS to assess process capability, evaluate current specifications
against capability and align specifications with current capability or drive improvement to bridge gaps

Serve as back up plant PCQI and SQF Practitioner

Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Requirements

High school or equivalent degree required; a two-year technical or bachelor's degree is preferred
-
High school or equivalent, 3 - 5 years in Quality Assurance in a food manufacturing environment

Two year technical or Bachelor's degree, 0 - 2 years in Quality Assurance in a food manufacturing environment

Understanding of food safety, FSMA, SQF/GFSI and basic food regulatory requirements.
Quality Control Regulatory Specialist w/ Certifications Preferred - HACCP, SQF, PCQI
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
