Job description
The Cyber Security Engineer I is responsible for assisting and supporting the evaluation, testing, monitoring and maintenance of information systems and cyber security policies, procedures, and systems., * Monitor security systems and alerts for potential threats
- Analyze security incidents and escalate them as necessary
- Support the deployment of security tools and updates
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and basic security audits
- Assist in incident response and investigations
- Maintain documentation of security policies and procedures
- Trains users on security protocol
- Ensures the information stored on computers or networks is not disclosed to unwanted parties or modified inadvertently
Requirements
Experience/Education/Certifications
- 1-2 years of hands-on experience in network security, system administration or security engineering
- Bachelor's degree preferred in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security or a related field
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Basic understanding of networking, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention, endpoint protection and security principles
- Understanding of security frameworks and standards
- Familiarity with operating systems and cloud platforms
- Effective communication and documentation skills
- Awareness of threat vectors, malware behavior and access control models
- Ability to stay updated with emerging threats and security trends
- Work independently and as a part of a cross functional security/IT team
- Maintain confidentiality, integrity and availability of systems and data
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
