Job description

GDIT is** seeking a Senior Infras t ructure Engineer to **Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Global Video Services (GVS) business area to enable the integration of video services into the Department of War. This position is a combination of remote (20%) and onsite (80%) support in Fort Meade, MD or Chantilly, VA., The Senior Infrastructure Engineer will serve as technology expert. As Infrastructure Engineer you will oversee the design, documentation, implementation and management of IT services for a cloud deployed capability. You will manage highly available and secure services between cloud deployed software and cloud collaboration services. You will be responsible for setting up and/or maintaining development lab environments that mirror production systems.

  • Design & Implementation: Designs cloud infrastructure, virtual private cloud, virtual private network, relational database services, auto-scaling, and compute resources to meet customer requirements.

  • Lab Environment: Responsible for setting up and maintaining development lab environments that mirror production systems, ensuring they are current with industry standards.

  • Guidance & Documentation: Provides guidance on installation, configuration, and maintenance of virtual hosts, operating systems, applications, and databases. Develops and presents IT infrastructure standard operating procedures to senior management.

  • Availability & Security: Maintains ownership of high availability, high-security IT operations. Reviews and approves periodic status updates on scheduled maintenance and upgrades of all infrastructure systems.

  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoots operating systems, network, storage, identity, virtualization, software, and application issues to identify bottlenecks in operations and provides recommendations for optimum performance and continuity of critical systems.

  • **Collaboration & Standards: ** Collaborates with enterprise architecture teams and other stakeholders to determine enterprise tools, technologies, and processes. Establishes corporate cloud computing architecture policies and standards in compliance with NIST, FISMA, FIPS, OMB, and FedRAMP.

Experience:

8 + years of related experience, * Security clearance level: Active Secret

  • Certification: IAT Level II certification (i.e. Security+ CE or equivalent)

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science or equivalent field

  • Experience: 8+ years of related experience

  • Technical skills:

  • Prior DoW experience is required, DISA experience is a plus

  • Experience with DoW Cloud Environments (IL4/IL5/IL6), including MS Office 365, and classified and unclassified networks

  • Experience designing and implementing Azure cloud resources, database services, auto scaling, and automation to meet customers' requirements.

  • Expertise in implementing Azure architectures, ideally for DoW customers, including the following:

  • ---- Azure Active Directory

  • ---- ADFS

  • ---- Azure Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) offerings

  • ---- Windows Server

  • ---- Azure Networking

  • ---- Implementing DoW security guidance for above

  • Identity and directory services integration and troubleshooting

  • Windows/Linux OS hardening/patching/administration/configuration/automation per DISA STIG Guidelines.

  • Collaboration on configuration changes using a distributed revision control system (i.e., Git).

  • Experience with Agile/SCRUM software development management methods

  • Location - Hybrid - reporting onsite in either Chantilly, VA or Ft. Meade, MD several days a week.

Benefits & conditions

The likely salary range for this position is $131,750 - $178,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
